It is the summer of 1869, and trains, crews, and family are traveling together, riding America's brand-new transcontinental railroad. Writing, Punctuation and Grammar

To help bring our learning to life we will be reading Locomotive by Brian Floca. This book will support our learning across the curriculum and drive our writing foci this term. Our writing genres will include: a letter as train passenger; a poem using onomatopoeia and a disaster story.


During the Autumn Term we will ensuring we are able to spell all words from the Y1 and 2 spelling list. It would be great if you could practise unknown spellings too!

Our weekly spelling patterns during Autumn 1 will be: /ei/, /ey/, /ai/, /ear/ and /ly/ e.g. easy - easily.
