Bursar Home Reading Challenge

We would like to invite you and your child to take part in the Bursar Home Reading Challenge.

Home reading should be every night and is a good way to help your child to improve their reading. Children may read to you from their reading book, their school library book, their class library book or a book of their own. Please sign your child’s Home Reading Record, and add any positive comments you wish to make about their reading.  The amount of time for home reading varies according to the age of a pupil but we recommend 5 - 10 minutes for early years and infant pupils rising to 20 - 30 minutes for junior pupils.

50 nights reading will qualify your child for the Bronze Award

75 nights reading will qualify your child for the Silver Award

100 nights reading will qualify your child for the Gold Award

150 nights reading will qualify your child for the Emerald Award

200 nights reading will qualify your child for the Diamond Award
